Finally the last phase! I took the afternoon to do the black enamel wash on the various parts. Its another way to do panel lining and this is my second time doing only haha so expect screw ups along the way…

After cleaning up with a cotton bud and tissues. Dab a bit of enamel thinner to wipe of the excess

Helmet after flat coating. One thing to note about doing such coats. Best is to do it on a sunny day to avoid frosting problems.

Well had a lot of fun doing this guy. Also learned a lot more about getting that enamel mix right. I thinned the enamel too much resulting in terrible washes especially to the blue area. Also missed out some areas at the shoulders. Apparently using one coat from the spray cans are not enough. Some of it came off while rubbing when I was cleaning up the black enamel. Oh well nothing ventured nothing gain. Another important thing to take note is do do all metallic colors last after the top coat. Will take some time off to do a photoshoot for this guy soon…. hee now where is that MG exia…
